The main idea is to focus on the basic working of Diodes, Transistors, oscillators
 and their applications in Rectifiers, Amplifiers and Oscillators.
As a part of  II  year curriculum the above experiments are conducted in the laboratory.

Third year and Final year students have performed much application for there Project works
 on micro controllers (8051).

Optical fibers are studied.
 As a part of IV Year I semester curriculum the above experiments are conducted.

The Department supports its students by providing hand on practical experience through training on Industrial modules/tools and project development in special labs and centers of excellence.

Objective of this center is to create academic center of excellence in semiconductor technology. The key activities of the above center is to provide domain training by VLSI experts from CYIENT to students supported by two faculty members Mr.I.B.K Raju and U. Gnaneshwara chary from Dept of Electronics and communication, BVRIT who also got trained by CYIENT. Training is followed by Identify the real time problems and finding the technological solutions and validating the idea (proof of concept). Once the idea is formulated and validated design and implementation will be proceeded.

CVD conducted 5-Day workshop on “VLSI Design Flow using SYNOPSYS Tools” in collaboration with SYNOPSYS, Hyd and EIGEN Technologies, New Delhi during 29th December 2015 -2nd January 2016 at BVRIT, Narsapur. Objectives of Embedded Systems Lab:

To learn Basic hardware and software concepts in the analysis and design of embedded systems, peripheral interfaces and performance analysis with hands-on design project.

To formulate an embedded computer system design problem including multiple constraints, create a design that satisfies the constraints, implement the design in hardware and software, and measure performance against the design constraints

The lab provides a perfect platform for acquiring basic knowledge on Microcontrollers and Microprocessors. Learning Embedded-C Coding skills can make them programming easily for microcontrollers. With this software and hardware skills one can easily do any mini or major projects.

Arduino, the world’s leading open source hardware and software platform, celebrated its fourth annual Arduino Day, giving developers around the world a unique opportunity to come together. Developers and Makers of all ages shared projects and learn from others who are building with Arduino’s leading open source hardware and software
We BVRITians celebrated Arduino Day, where Arduino fans gathered together, shared experiences, and learned more through demonstrations and hands-on learning. Participation was open to all students. About 80 students from all departments participated in this event. Since its origin, twelve years ago today, Arduino’s mission has been to make technology simple for everybody and to unleash people’s creativity. The Cognitive Science Research Initiative is one of the latest ventures taken up by BVRIT. The lab is being headed by Dr I.A.Pasha who is also the head of the Electronics and Communication Engineering department. The lab boasts of the prestigious DST fund which primarily aims at building brain-computer interfaces for people with no muscle control. In addition to this major project, students are encouraged to come up with their own ideas and extensive support is given to expand their ideas, carry out their own research work and conduct experiments. BVRIT proudly claims to be one of the very few colleges in India to have established a Cognitive Science lab which is a virginal ground, especially in India.

Objectives

The centre focuses research on intelligence and behaviour, especially focusing on how information is represented, processed, and transformed (in faculties such as perception, language, memory, reasoning, and emotion) within human nervous systems and machines (e.g. computers).

“Development of Open Source Brain Computer Interface Toolbox and Large Scale Public Database of EEG Data for BCI Research” under CSRI (Cognitive Science Research Initiative).

Advanced Communication laboratory was setup as an initiation taken up by Department of Electronics and Communication, BVRITN in 2016. It is envisioned as an umbrella body, under the aegis of which all communication related activities of the Department will be coordinated. The main emphasis of the laboratory is to design and develop RF/antenna modules, radar signal processing, modulation schemes, parametric characterisation of wireless modules, software defined radio applications, different wireless standards and work on research problems and innovative projects that extend the state of the art of wireless systems. The vision behind is to promote and encourage student activities, research projects and relevant courses related to this field.

Antennas Development Setup

This setup mainly focuses on design and implementation of printed microstrip patch antennas including the operations of obtaining wide band, dual band, tri band, linear and circular polarization.

Radar Signal processing Setup

Radar Signal processing setup deals with a High Resolution Radar (HRR) target detection system which is basically a pulse compression radar. HRR detection system is used for processing poly alphabetic signal at larger pulse compression ratio using phase coded pulse compression sequences. Using this system it is proposed to set up coincidence detection scheme to achieve effective point/distributed target detection.

Microwave Test bench Setup

The displayed microwave test bench setup brings out the demonstration of measuring different parameters such as VSWR, reflection coefficient, input power, output power, resonant frequency, guided wavelength, cut off wave length, input impedance, gain and beamwidth for X-band range os frequencies (8-12GHz).

Department of electronics and communication Engineering, BVRIT intends to setup amateur Radio (HAM) LAB at BVRIT to expand the communication engineering knowledge to electronics and communication students.

ABOUT HAM:

Amateur Radio is a popular hobby and service that brings people electronics and communication together. People use HAM Radio to talk across the town, around the world or even into space. The persons who want to become HAM they have to write HAM examination and get license from Ministry of communications and Information Technology.
Amateur Radio operators in their free time use their radio stations and conduct two-way communication and exchange cultural, personal, technical information with other amateurs not only within India but all over the world. The two-way communications using Radio transmitters, receivers, antennae can be either through Voice, Morse Code, Digital (Video & Data) or through Satellites. HF radios hams can talk to other hams in literally any part of the globe.
OBJECTIVE of HAM LAB

HAM LAB is the electronics and communication laboratory where the student can work on basic electronics circuits like transmitters and receivers, Antennas development, Satellite communication and signal, image processing etc by using HAM kits.
WORKSHOPS:

LIVE SATELLITE TRACKING USING HAM: 12th Dec,2017
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, BVRIT intends to setup amateur Radio (HAM) LAB at ECE to expand the communication engineering knowledge to electronics and communication students. In this aspect we conducted an awareness program on HAM Radio and workshop on Live Satellite Tracking Using HAM with the help of National Institute of Amateur Radio(NIAR). Mr. Rammohan, Director NIAR is the chief guest for this awareness program.
LIVE STELLITE TRACKING program started with 46 students. The students are divided into 6 groups. NOVA 19 is the one of the American weather satellite which is passing through our country on same day at 2:47 PM. The student groups are distributed with Ham kits and Antennas. Satellite sent the frequency in the form of audio. This audio captured in mobiles and converted into weather image by using Wxtoimg software. The satellite tracked totally for 10 mins.
AWARENESS PROGRAMS:

NIAR conducted awareness program in BVRIT, Narsapur on 26th Feb,2016. I,II,III,IV year students of ECE participated in the awareness program. Mr.Rammohan garu vice chairman NIAR is the chief guest for this program.
Students are got motivation by the activities of NIAR during disasters. Electronics and communication technology improvement through HAM is explained during the program. Total 85 students are participated.
NIAR VISITS:

II year and III year students of ECE, BVRITN are visited NIAR on 29th Dec 2016 along with their class teachers. NIAR team explained about Ham activities and Technology behind HAM with some practical experiments.
Students learned the Radio transmitters and receivers and Played FOX HUNTING Game by using HAM transmitters and Receivers. Total 54 students are participated.
HAM EXAMINATION at BVRIT:

Government of India Ministry of communications and Information Technology with the help of NIAR conducted a HAM examination at our college on 22nd February, 2017. Total 34 UG students from our college are appeared for this exam.
Twenty students are cleared this exam and they applied for License, four members got licenses and students purchased HAM kits.
PROJECTS

1. SATELLITE TRACKING:
Students can track the satellites like Nova, this is a weather satellite which are moving around our country. By using HAM kit student can listen and save the satellite sound at a particular time.
Highlights of this Project:
Here the student can learn about different satellites.
They can learn about audio to image conversion algorithms.(Audio processing and image processing)
2. HAM RADIO COMMUNICATION SYSTEM DESIGN:
Student can able Design the HAM communication system in three modes.
UHF- Ultra high frequency HAM radio
VHF- Very high frequency HAM radio
HF - High frequency HAM radio
Highlights of this Project:
Here the student can learn about Transmitter and Receiver designs.
student can learn about All Frequency and Amplitude modulations.
3.ANTENNA DESIGNING:
In this projects students are Design the various types of antennas. Example Yagi antenna. By using these antennas students are able to increase decrease the range of the HAM radios. Many antennas have been invented simply by necessity.
The heart of the system of Amateur Radio is the antenna. There are many other misinformed persons stating that power is the ultimate force. Not So ! The heart of any radio station, be it Amateur Radio, Commercial, Business, CB, Personal Family Radio, or experimenters in extremely low power amateur radio ( QRP as it is called ) transmissions IS the antenna! Without good reception, you won't hear much. Without good antennas for transmitting, you won't transmit far, even if you apply high output RF power, or if high output watts are used ! Height, length, feedline, balun, insulators, type wire used, or type metal used, what do you want to do with this antenna, how many bands do you want it to perform its work is also important in antenna design.
