Chemical Engineering Overview
Chemical Engineering Department is one of the well established segments of the Institute with strong and well knit faculty and excellent facilities. B.Tech in Chemical Engineering: Started with 40 seats in 1997 & increased to 60 seats in 2009. M.Tech in Chemical Engineering: Started with 18 Seats in 2004.Several measures have been taken by the Department in order to match and fulfill the needs of a versatile Chemical Engineer which include Highly Qualified Faculty with rich industrial and R&D Experience. Dedicated Research Center for Powder Technology (APRC) in collaboration with Industry (APCL) Advanced Simulation Laboratory with Softwares CHEMCAD, MATLAB and COMSOL Research & Consultancy projects to solve industry problems
To educate future leaders in chemical engineering who effectively combine their broad knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology with their engineering analysis and design skills for the creative solution of problems in chemical technology and for the synthesis of innovative chemical processes and products.
Provide students with the underlying engineering sciences and technical foundations to become competent, practicing chemical engineers.
Students from the department got placements in the reputed organizations. All the qualified chemical engineering students will be placed in industry based on their interest.
Students got admissions into reputed universities / Institutes which include IIT Madras,IT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIP Dehradun.
Students are imparted with skill required to become entrepreneurs and some of the organizations are Ramadevi Enviro Industries, SIFLON etc.
Industrial Tours will be conducted once a year for second and third year students. All the students of second and third year are placed for summer training at different Industries all over India. Students are encouraged to pursue their Mini project and Project work in reputed organizations.

Programme Objectives (PO’s)
The students of CHE Dept. at the end of the program are expected to have attained the following:
a) An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics (including multivariable calculus, differential equations, linear algebra and statistics), science (including chemistry, calculus-based physics and the life sciences), and engineering.
b) An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
c) An ability to design and realize a system, component, or process to meet desired needs
d) An ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams.
e) An ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems.
f) An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility
g) An ability to communicate effectively
h) The broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global and societal context.
i) A recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning
j) A knowledge of contemporary issues
k) An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practic.
l) Focused experience through Hospital training and undergraduate projects in one or more areas of advanced research.
