CHEMICAL ENGINEERING
Chemical Engineering Department is one of the well established segments of the Institute with strong and well knit faculty and excellent facilities, the first batch of 40 students being graduated in 2001. Post Graduate program (M.Tech in Chemical Engineering ) was Introduced in the year 2004.
Several measures have been taken by the Department in order to match and fulfill the needs of a versatile Chemical Engineer.

• Reputed organizations like Central Food Technological Research Institute, Aurobindo Pharma, Hetero Drugs, Matrix laboratories, Virchow laboratories , Vasanth Chemicals , Indian Immunologicals limited, Sanghi Polymers, NFC and other industries.

ACHIEVEMENTS :

• Consistency in results ( above 90% )
• The students of the Department have competed with the students of well reputed Institutions like IITs, NITs and won top positions in various national and international level symposia.
• Organized National Symposium on Energy, Environment & Chemical Engineer in August 2002
• Organized National Symposium on Biotechnology & Chemical Engineer in September 2003
• Won University gold medals
• Inauguration of IIChE Students Chapter and BVRIT Chemical Engieering Students Congress in April 2002.
• Ms Hamsa Priya bagged all India third rank with 99.97 percentile in GATE.
• Mr Rajasekhar was awarded Homi Bhaba Award at NFC.
• Ms Vandana, a second batch student, was given International award for her project work in Effects of Arsenic Pollution and their prevention.
• Mr Rakesh Vatsal was awarded Best Chemical Engineering outgoing student by Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, Hyderabad Regional Centre. Also received Padmabhushan B.V.Raju Memorial Award instituted by Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers.
• Curriculum Development in association with JNTU.

TRAINING :

• All the students of first, second and third year are placed for summer training during the summer recess at different Industries all over India. The sandwich experience makes the students confident in applying the concepts of Chemical Engineering to practice.
• Students are given projects in the thrust areas, and are successful in the results. Different projects include Environmental pollution control Technologies, Bio Technologies and Design of columns, reactors and heat transfer equipment.

PUBLICATIONS :

• The Department is publishing a quarterly magazine,CHEMTRENDZ, with the activities of the Department which include Invited Lectures, R&D activities, Training Programmes, Student Achievements and Alumni information.

ALUMNI :

• The chemical engineering alumni take interest in helping students of the Department.
• Quite a good number of students are absorbed in reputed organizations like Nuclear Fuel Complex , Indian Immunologicals limited, Aurobindo Pharma Limited , Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Matrix laboratories, Virchow laboratories limited, Vasanth Chemicals, Sanghi Polymers and other organizations.
• Pursuing their higher studies at various Institutions/ Universities in India and Abroad.
