INTRODUCTION
Department of Electronics and Communication was established in the year 1999 for imparting a state-of the- art education, training and research in the field of Electronics and Communication and allied areas. The department offers a Bachelor's program with an intake of 120 students per year and Master's programmes in VLSI System Design and Embedded Systems with an intake of 18 students each. The department has a faculty strength of 26 and a student strength of around 550.

The placement record has always been very impressive. Many students hold prestigious posts in MNCs and blue-chip companies. The students are performing well in educational institutes and Corporates in Germany, France, Denmark, Canada and U.S.A. They have won many laurels in national and international forums and have published papers in prestigious journals. The Department of ECE has state-of the- art laboratories in the areas of Advanced Communication, Embedded systems, DSP, Microwave and Optical Communication, VLSI system design. Department is prestigious with the latest synopsys tools to cater various specialisations and is equipped with facilities for measurement, characterisation and synthesis of experimental as well as theoretical results. Further the Department conducts Synopsys University Program for pre-final and final year UG students in collaboration with Synopsys and SEER Academy which in first of its kind in the state.


UG Program Objectives:

The course equips graduates with the following:

  • An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering to electronics and communication engineering problems.
  • An ability to design and conduct experiments and to analyze and interpret gathered data
  • An ability to function in and/or develop leadership in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • An ability to identify, formulate and solve electronics and communication engineering problems
  • An understanding of ethical and professional responsibility
  • An ability for effective communication
  • An ability to understand and correctly interpret the impact of engineering solutions in a social/global context
  • An ability to engage in life-long learning to follow developments in electronics and communication engineering
  • A knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues
  • An ability to skillfully use modern engineering tools and techniques necessary for engineering design, analysis and applications
  • A recognition of the need for quality
  • An ability to function individually as well as be part of a team. An ability to look for the students getting placed in the core companies
Scope for Employment:
  • Industries involving VLSI,Embedded Systems,wireless communications and signal processing, micro- and nanoelectronics, telecommunication, robotics, computer softwarehardware integration, and other advanced technologies.
  • Placement in leading core communication companies like Synopsys, Xilinx,TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Mahindra Satyam, CISCO, IBM, Agilent, Alcatel, Hellosoft, Medha servo drives and ELICO systems.

Objectives
  • Placement in leading core companies like Intel, IBM, ARM, Free-scale Semiconductors, Wipro, Sasken, Philips, GDA Tech, Synopsis, Cadence, Magma, Mentor Graphics, Texas Instruments, Analog Devices, 3D, Motorola, Honeywell, HCL Technologies, Interra Systems, Soliton, Honeywell, Cypress Semiconductors, Micro-chip, Tata Elxsi etc.
  • All R & D Organisations involving VLSI Design, Device Modelling.
  • IC Foundries like TSMC, UMC, AMS, AMI etc.

II.M.Tech Embedded Systems:

Objectives
  • To produce an exposure of Microcontrollers and Embedded software and hardware technologies and PSoc Architecture with analog and digital blocks
  • To expose students to the complexities and design methodologies of Advanced Microcontrollers applicable to domains of DSP, Graphics and Imaging and multimedia technologies
  • To provide hands-on for high end and low end applications with 8051 , PIC and ARM microcontrollers

  • Placement in leading core companies like AMD,ARM, NXP,NDS,Conexant,Sasken,Motorola, Toshiba, Samsung,Analog Devices,Robert Bosch and Tata Elxsi

Department research strength spans over diverse disciplines like Centre for VLSI Design, Centre for Embedded systems design, and Centre for Advanced Communications with quality faculty members Mr.Sanjay Dubey, Mr.Sanjeev Reddy and Mr.Prabhakar Rao as incharges for the respective fields. It also encourages its researchers to participate in a wide range of international research collaborations. BVRIT's extensive network creates unique opportunities for conducting and supporting research, particularly in inter- andmulti-disciplinaryareas.
