MSME Business Incubator

  • Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises – Technology Business Incubator (MSME-TBI) is a novel Scheme launched by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise (MSME), Government of India (GoI), which aims at Identification and commercialization of Innovative Ideas.
  • The Ministry of MSME provides financial assistance to HI for developing and nurturing the ideas up to max 85 % of the project cost or the maximum of 15.00 Lakhs.
  • B V Raju Institute of Technology was approved by MSME as the Technology as the Host Institutions (HI) in the year 2008 and again got renewed in the year 2023 with reference No. HIBITS004039.
  • For 2023-24 and 2024-25, MSME has launched two programs:
    • MSME- Women Idea Hackathon 3.0 exclusively for Women Entrepreneurs and Girl Students
    • MSME- Idea Hackathon 4.0 for young professionals
  • As a Host Institute BVRIT has conducted both Hackathons successfully.

Launch of MSME- Women Idea Hackathon 3.0

In line with the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, “The progress of humanity is incomplete without the empowerment of women.” Ministry of MSME is launched “MSME Idea Hackathon 3.0” for Women Innovators & Women owned MSMEs across India under MSME Innovative Scheme (Incubation component) on 27.06.2023 by Hon’ble Minister of MSME on the occasion of MSME Day.

BVRIT as HI has  received 65 Innovative Ideas and the External Evaluation Committee comprising of the following members (Table 1) from different expert areas is constituted to evaluate and shortlist the potential ideas received in MSME Idea Hackathon 3.0 (Women) (as per the guidelines of MSME Innovative Scheme and guidelines for participation in MSME Idea Hackathon 3.0 (Women)) organized between 27th June 2023 – 10thAugust 2023 by Ministry of MSME for further recommending on the MSME Innovative MIS Portal. External committee finally has shortlisted 28 projects and they have been sent to MSME-TBI, New Delhi for final Screening

Launch of MSME- Idea Hackathon 4.0

In line with the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, “Youngsters from India are doing wonderful things both in India and internationally. Ministry of MSME is launched “The MSME Idea Hackathon 4.0” for for young innovators to contribute to India’s economic growth and sustainable development by inviting them to present creative and viable solutions across diverse themes.

Ideas are being invited under MSME Idea Hackathon 4.0 from people aged between 18-35 from all over India under MSME Innovative Scheme. For implementation of the scheme the Host Institutions (HI) approved for the scheme will be supported by the Office of DC-MSME. Incubatees’ selected ideas will be provided funding support upto Rs. 15 lakhs per approved idea, through the Host Institutes chosen by them.

Process flow of Idea submission and Evaluation:

  1. Stage 1- To join MSME Idea Hackathon: New registration: https:// my.msme.gov.in/inc/Hackathon_Reg.aspx
  2. Stage 2 – Evaluation by the Host Institutes
  3. Stage 3 – Evaluation by the Ministry of MSME
  4. Stage 4 – Selection of Ideas by Domain Expert Selection Committee (DESC)
  5. Stage 5 – Final Selection by Project Monitoring & Advisory Committee (PMAC)

BVRIT as HI has received 83 Innovative Ideas and the External Evaluation Committee comprising of the following members (Table 2) from different expert areas is constituted to evaluate and shortlist the potential ideas received in MSME Idea Hackathon 4.0 (as per the guidelines of MSME Innovative Scheme and guidelines for participation in MSME Idea Hackathon 3.0) organized between 11th September, 2024 – 10th October, 2024 by Ministry of MSME for further recommending on the MSME Innovative MIS Portal. External committee finally has shortlisted 21 projects and they have been sent to MSME-TBI, New Delhi for final Screening.
