The B.V. Raju Institute of Technology (BVRIT), Narsapur has indeed emerged as a pioneer in promoting concrete canoe activities in India through the Vishnu National Concrete Canoe Competition (VNCCC), which has been conducted annually since 2025, typically during the first week of January.
The establishment of VNCCC by BVRIT is particularly significant because it provides a dedicated national platform for civil engineering students to integrate:
• Structural design
• Lightweight concrete technology
• Hydrodynamics and buoyancy
• Construction management• Sustainability and innovation
• Teamwork and project execution
This initiative positions BVRIT among the few institutions in India that are not only participating in concrete canoe competitions but also organizing a national-level competition, thereby contributing to experiential learning in civil engineering.
Vishnu National Concrete Canoe Competition (VNCCC) is a flagship annual national-level student engineering competition organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, BVRIT Narsapur, since 2025. Conducted during the first week of January every year, the competition provides a platform for civil engineering students across India to design, construct, and race reinforced concrete canoes, fostering innovation, sustainability, teamwork, and practical engineering skills.
