Research Centre of Chemical Engineering
The Research Centre of the Department of Chemical Engineering is a multidisciplinary hub dedicated to innovative and sustainable research in chemical and process engineering. The centre has published more than 80 Scopus-indexed journal papers, 40+ patent publications, and secured 5 granted patents, demonstrating strong research excellence. Faculty members have successfully handled 6 sponsored research projects and 1 consultancy projects funded by agencies such as DST, MSME, industries, and research organizations. Major thrust areas include heat transfer enhancement, nanotechnology, bioprocess engineering, membrane separations, CFD, wastewater treatment, CO₂ capture, renewable energy systems, and advanced separation processes. The centre promotes industry collaboration, technology development, entrepreneurship, and societal impact through innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.

The Biotron bioreactor is a compact fermentation system with digital control, continuous monitoring, and automated liquid handling for stable, reproducible runs.
