IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (APS) Student Branch Chapter Inauguration at BVRIT Narsapur
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, BVRIT Narsapur, proudly inaugurated the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (APS) Student Branch Chapter on 30th August 2025. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Dr. A. Bharathi, Associate Professor, Osmania University, who served as the Chief Guest for the occasion.

The event began with a welcome address, followed by an inspiring speech from Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy, Head of the Department, ECE, BVRIT Narsapur. In his address, Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy emphasized the importance of IEEE in fostering a global technical community and providing a platform for students to engage in professional growth, networking, and research. He also highlighted the significance of establishing the IEEE APS Student Branch Chapter, noting that it would encourage students to explore cutting-edge areas in antennas, propagation, and emerging wireless technologies, thereby enhancing both academic and practical knowledge.

Dr. A. Bharathi delivered the inaugural address, highlighting the growing importance of antennas and propagation in modern wireless communication systems, radar, and emerging technologies such as 5G and 6G. She emphasized the need for active student participation in professional societies like IEEE APS to enhance research, collaboration, and innovation.
As part of the event, an expert lecture was conducted on the topic “Unfolding the Power of Many: Analysis and Synthesis of Antenna Arrays”. Dr. Bharathi provided deep insights into the fundamentals and advancements of antenna arrays, their role in beamforming, array synthesis techniques, and applications in defense, satellite, and next-generation wireless communication systems.

The session proved to be highly enriching for both students and faculty members, sparking discussions on the future scope of antenna technologies. The program concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where participants enthusiastically engaged with the resource person.
Speaking on the occasion, the Faculty Advisor of the IEEE APS Student Branch Chapter expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, HoD, and the organizing team. He appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students and encouraged them to utilize the platform of IEEE APS to gain knowledge, collaborate on innovative projects, and contribute to advancements in the field of antennas and wireless communication.
The successful inauguration of the IEEE APS Student Branch Chapter at BVRIT Narsapur marks the beginning of a new journey for students in exploring advanced research in antennas and propagation. The department looks forward to organizing more technical events, expert talks, and collaborative activities under the banner of IEEE APS.
